The much-anticipated winners of the “Yes, It’s Genocide” video contest were announced Friday by the AYF’s Garo Madenlian Public Affairs office. The contest was held in conjunction with, and named in honor of, Serj Tankian’s powerful new song dedicated to the victims of all genocides.

The two grand prize winning submissions were by Raffi Shahinian and the Pasadena City College Armenian Students Association. The runner up video was from Joe Delgado, in collaboration with his fellow students from Clark Magnet High School.

Submissions were evaluated on the messaging, originality, execution, and presentation of their video. Prizes for the winners include tickets to Serj’s next concert in Los Angeles, a chance to meet Serj backstage, a copy of the new “Imperfect Harmonies” album, a signed lithograph of the “Yes, It’s Genocide” music sheet, and limited-edition “Yes, It’s Genocide” t-shirts.

Clips entered into the contest were also sent directly to President Obama as part of the ANCA’s “Yes, It’s Genocide” Action Alert Campaign.
